At the 50th Anvil Awards Gold Gabi ng Parangal of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) recently, SM Foundation received two Silver Anvil Awards for its public relations (PR) programs in a sustained basis in literacy (SM Foundation College Scholarship Program) as well as in health and wellness (SM Foundation’s Medical Mission and Felicidad T. Sy Wellness Program).
One hundred and forty-five (145) scholars from National Capital Region and nearby provinces are now scholars of SM Foundation for school year 2015-2016. They are from Manila, Cavite, Bulacan, Malabon City, Navotas City, Quezon City, Taguig City, Tanay City and Valenzuela City.

Two hundred sixty-four (264) SM scholar-graduates gathered at the SMX Convention Center recently for an exclusive job offer event held by the SM Foundation.
When Aljon Laborte’s father boarded the MV Princess of the Stars en route to Cebu in 2008, he didn’t think that this will set off a chain of events that will change his life drastically.
“I was still in high school when my dad died,” Aljon said. “He was one of the victims of the MV Princess of the Stars.”

A total of 145 students from NCR and nearby areas of Bulacan, Baliwag, Sta. Rosa, Calamba, San Pablo and Cavite, were welcomed as SM Foundation’s first batch of scholars for school year 2015-2016.
On May 27, 264 scholar-graduates of SM Foundation in accountancy, computer science, information technology, education, computer engineering, electronics and communications engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering and mechanical engineering were offered positions by the human resources representatives of the SM Group. Participating companies include SM Investments Corporation, The SM STORE, SM Food Retail, Shopping Center Management Corporation, SM Prime Holdings, Inc. and other SM Retail affiliates.
Mary Jhoy Mabulac believes that when an opportunity knocks, one must be fast to open the door. When she heard that the SM Foundation College Scholarship Program was accepting applications for school year 2015-2016, she wasted no time in submitting her application.
President Benigno Aquino presented the ‘Outstanding Exemplar in the Private Sector’ award to Tessie Sy-Coson for SM Foundation’s programs in education, health and wellness, and livelihood during the annual media Bulong-Pulungan Christmas party event at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila last December 11. The ‘Outstanding Exemplar’ award is given yearly to people from both the government and private sector who have made great contributions in nation-building.
Eighteen-year-old Ana Liza Dalida was almost in tears when she got a call informing her that she has been accepted into the SM Foundation College Scholarship Program. She knew that being an SM scholar signified her first step into securing a better future for herself and her family.
