Employment opportunities within SM Group extended to scholar-graduates

On May 27, 264 scholar-graduates of SM Foundation in accountancy, computer science, information technology, education, computer engineering, electronics and communications engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering and mechanical engineering were offered positions by the human resources representatives of the SM Group. Participating companies include SM Investments Corporation, The SM STORE, SM Food Retail, Shopping Center Management Corporation, SM Prime Holdings, Inc. and other SM Retail affiliates.

When SM Foundation launched its first Kabalikat Sa Kabuhayan Farmers’ Training Program in Bacolod, it was envisioned to provide marginal farmers knowledge on the proper vegetable and fruit cultivation using modern technology and organic fertilizers sans the use of pesticides. The end objective was to bring nutritious food to every table of the participants.

Eastern Samar Farmers can supply vegetables to SM Savemore after Training program

Despite the onslaught of a strong typhoon, 141 participants of SM Foundation’s 80th Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan Farmers Training Program finished the season-long training program in Balangiga, Eastern Samar. The graduation ceremony was held recently at the Barangay San Miguel Plaza, Balangiga, Eastern Samar.

Deutsche Bank Ag Manila partners with SM Prime and SM Foundation to build a new school building in Valenzuela

The partnership of SM Prime Holdings Inc., DEUTSCHE Bank Ag Manila and SM Foundation Inc. has resulted anew in a newly – constructed 2-storey, 4 classroom building complete with student chairs, tables, wall fans, computers and a toilet per classroom in Wawang Pulo, Valenzuela. Aside from these, murals depicting moral values are painted within the walls of the classrooms painstakingly done by volunteer employees of the Bank during week-ends.

DepEd recognizes SM group’s continued investments in education

SM Foundation, SM Prime Holdings Inc. and SM Synergy Properties Holdings Corporation are among the partners recognized by the Department of Education (DepEd) in its event “Adopt A School Program: 17 Years of Celebrating Partnerships” on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the Department of Education (DepEd) Complex in Pasig City. Spearheaded by DepEd Secretary Brother Armin Luistro and Undersecretary for Partnerships and External Linkages, USEC Mario Deriquito, the Adopt A School Program invites the private sector to partner with DepEd in support of better quality education.

Bulacan farmers celebrate bountiful harvest

One hundred and eighteen (118) farmers from San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan capped off their 12-week training under SM Foundation’s Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan Farmers’ Training Program with a harvest festival on May 28.

BDO volunteers plant trees in Antipolo

More than 120 volunteers from BDO branches and various departments recently planted trees in Antipolo City in an environmental event organized by BDO Foundation with SM Foundation.

Assisted by members of the People’s Organization in the community, BDO volunteers planted narra and cacao saplings on approximately 20 hectares in the mountains of Sitio San Ysiro, Barangay San Jose.

Basa Airbase Hospital is 12th Military Facility renovated by SM Foundation

SM Foundation, represented by Executive Director Debbie P. Sy and Executive Director for Health and Medical Programs Connie Angeles, turned over a renovated and refurbished 60-bed Basa Airbase Hospital to the Commanding Officer of the Hospital, Colonel Augustus de Villa. A memorandum of agreement was signed by the partners witnessed by Brigadier General Enrique C. Reyes, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Wing Commander and Brigadier General Joselito P. Avancena, AFP Surgeon General.

81st Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan Farmers Training Program launched in Pampanga

The 81st batch of Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan Farmers Training Program (KSK-FTP) launched in Barangay San Agustin, Betis, Guagua, Pampanga last January 16, 2015 attracted 200 small scale farmers from neighboring barangays and municipalities including residents of Villa Santiago, a village built by the Rotary Club of Loyola Heights for marginalized families. Seventy-two (72) families residing in the said village are also Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program beneficiaries.
