Over 1,751 patients benefited in SM Foundation’s medical mission held in SM Center Muntinlupa on April 15, 2015. Sixteen volunteer doctors lent their expertise through free dental extractions and other medical procedures such as urinalysis, x-ray, electrocardiograph, complete blood chemistry, complete blood count and bone density testing. Meanwhile, volunteer employees from SM Center Muntinlupa helped in dispensing medicines and vitamins to patients.
Students of Wawang Pulo Elementary School in Valenzuela were all too eager to go to class in their new two-storey, four-classroom building donated by partners SM Prime Holdings, Inc., SM Foundation and Deutsche Bank Ag Manila. The new school building was fully furnished with armchairs, wall fans, blackboards and teachers’ desks.
Two school buildings in Batangas City were recently repaired by SM Foundation in fulfillment with its commitment to undertake the maintenance and repair of school buildings it has donated. The school buildings that underwent repair belonged to the Navera National High School in Barangay Concepcion which was turned over by SM Foundation in July 2010 and the Bulacnin National High School in Barangay Bulacnin, Lipa City, turned over in January 2010.
Almost two years after Typhoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyan) devastated the Visayas region, survivors in Tacloban still struggle to rebuild their lives, more specifically their livelihood. As a continued effort to help rehabilitate the area, SM Foundation recently concluded its 90th Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan training in Sta. Elena, Tacloban, training 167 farmers, from 15 barangays, in effective and sustainable agriculture.
Last month, SM Foundation turned over its 66th school building to the Tacloban City National High School in Leyte. The newly-constructed and fully-furnished 2-storey, 4-classroom building was a joint undertaking among partners SM Foundation, SM Prime Holdings, Inc. and BDO Foundation.
Thanks to the joint effort of BDO Foundation, SM Prime Holdings and SM Foundation, the students of Ibajay National High School in Kalibo, Aklan welcomed Christmas with a newly rebuilt 2-storey, 4-classroom school building.
On September 21, the Felicidad T. Sy Foundation, Inc. (FTSyFI) held a mass wedding for 20 SM employee-couples at the Shrine of Jesus, The Way, The Truth and The Life in Pasay City.

The SM group, in partnership with Banco de Oro (BDO) Foundation, will be planting 10,000 trees in Antipolo, Rizal as part of its Grow A Million Trees (GAMT) campaign.
This project is being undertaken by BDO Foundation, SM Supermalls, SM Development Corporation, SM Investments Corporation, SM Markets, SM Foundation, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and the people’s organization (PO) Sitio San Ysiro Upland & Lowland Farmers Association, Inc. in Antipolo.
SM Foundation received a Silver Anvil Award for its public relations (PR) programs Medical Mission and Felicidad T. Sy Wellness Program under the sustained basis for health and wellness category during the 50th Anvil Awards Gold Gabi ng Parangal of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP).
About 200 farmers attended the launch of SM Foundation, Inc.’s Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan (KSK) Farmers’ Training Program in Barangay San Agustin, Betis, Guagua, Pampanga. The Pampanga training marks SM Foundation’s 81st batch and its first KSK training in 2015. Trainees for this batch include residents of the nearby community of Villa Santiago, a residential area for marginalized families, as well as small-scale farmers from neighboring barangays and municipalities.
