Women and child care prioritized in Muntinlupa medical mission

Over 1,751 patients benefited in SM Foundation’s medical mission held in SM Center Muntinlupa on April 15, 2015. Sixteen volunteer doctors lent their expertise through free dental extractions and other medical procedures such as urinalysis, x-ray, electrocardiograph, complete blood chemistry, complete blood count and bone density testing. Meanwhile, volunteer employees from SM Center Muntinlupa helped in dispensing medicines and vitamins to patients.

SM Foundation received a Silver Anvil Award for its public relations (PR) programs Medical Mission and Felicidad T. Sy Wellness Program under the sustained basis for health and wellness category during the 50th Anvil Awards Gold Gabi ng Parangal of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP).

SM Foundation conducts medical missions in Laguna and Cavite

SM Foundation Medical Missions.  Residents of Sta. Rosa, Laguna (left) and Bacoor, Cavite (right) check their names in the list of beneficiaries of the medical and dental mission conducted by SM Foundation in their respective locality recently. The medical missions that are regularly conducted by the Foundation bring doctors, dentists and other medical personnel closer to the patients. Aside from free consultation and basic laboratory services, the beneficiaries also received vitamins and complete dosage of prescription medicines.

At the 50th Anvil Awards Gold Gabi ng Parangal of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) recently, SM Foundation received two Silver Anvil Awards for its public relations (PR) programs in a sustained basis in literacy (SM Foundation College Scholarship Program) as well as in health and wellness (SM Foundation’s Medical Mission and Felicidad T. Sy Wellness Program).

Samar and Leyte get continuing support from SM Foundation through medical missions

For the victims of Typhoon Yolanda in Leyte and Samar, rebuilding their lives has not been easy. But they find comfort in the various non-government organizations and private institutions that are committed to help them move forward and overcome the trauma caused by the destruction of Yolanda. Rebuilding the lives of the victims involves not only providing them the needed infrastructure, housing, and source of livelihood but also ensuring their health and well-being.

Foundations of the Sy Group renovate health center in Benguet

The La Trinidad Main Health Center in Benguet, which caters to 16 barangays, has been renovated and accredited with PhilHealth for its out-patient benefit package (OPB). This means that the 21,425 households comprising these barangays can now avail of treatment in the Health Center. Thanks to SM Foundation and BDO Foundation who undertook the complete renovation, quality health service is brought to these communities.

Tessie Sy-Coson receives “Outstanding Exemplar” Award

President Benigno Aquino presented the ‘Outstanding Exemplar in the Private Sector’ award to Tessie Sy-Coson for SM Foundation’s programs in education, health and wellness, and livelihood during the annual media Bulong-Pulungan Christmas party event at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila last December 11. The ‘Outstanding Exemplar’ award is given yearly to people from both the government and private sector who have made great contributions in nation-building.

Over a thousand served at SM Center Valenzuela medical mission

One thousand five hundred and sixty-six (1,566) residents from nearby towns gathered at SM Center Valenzuela for medical and dental assistance from SM Foundation’s medical mission last May 5. Of these, 78 came from the neighboring community of Bahay Kalinga, a temporary home for abandoned children, children recovering from abuse, and the elderly.
