Dr. Rorie Quijano-Siasoco has set her heart in changing the way people think, feel and behave about health. This is what inspired her to join SM Foundation full time—to serve as SM Foundation’s Senior Project Manager for its Health and Medical Programs.
“The opportunity to be part of SM Foundation is a chance of a lifetime,” shared Dr. Rorie.
Joining SM Foundation and being given a chance to help people was a blessing for Dr. Rorie. Moreover, the Foundation’s approach to medical missions was holistic and not piece-meal, which was consistent with Dr. Rorie’s philosophy in health management.
Being with SM Foundation is like being part of a big family. Dr. Rorie enjoys watching her 88-year-old father, a retired doctor, volunteer in the many medical missions she conducts. During one of the missions, her father recounted how his heart leapt with joy when he was recognized by many of the patients. He was later on joined by his former and retired colleagues as volunteer doctors for the missions.
Dr. Rorie brings with her a long experience in Community Health Management. She served the Philippine government in various roles such as Chief Health Program Officer of the Department of Health (DOH) and Director of Health, Public Safety and Environmental Protection Office of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). On a personal capacity, she served as a volunteer consultant to both Kapwa Ko Mahal Ko Foundation and SM Foundation, helping thousands of patients needing medical assistance. She has devoted her life in the pursuit of providing #universalhealthcare to all Filipinos.
