Tatang Normito Daya of Isabang, Lucena City ventured into farming after he retired. Hoping to make this his new source of income, he started planting corn in his five-hectare land. But after some time, his hopes of earning from farming turned dim when he realized that he was not making enough with all the time, effort and investments he made. After attending SM Foundation’s Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan Farmers’ Training Program, he shifted to planting high value crops like tomatoes, eggplants, string beans and green bell peppers. In just a short time, Tatang Normito has recovered his initial capital and continues to earn. He also started training his son, who now helps him manage their farm.
